Jasmine Mans Tells Us There Is More to Rape Than ‘Surviving’

Jasmine Mans

Never one to stir away from controversial topics, author and poet Jasmine Mans returns with a new thought provocating visual poem “Surviving”. The piece featuring “Same Love” singer Mary Lambert is an ode to all sexual assault survivors.

The rather minimalistic visual directed by Andre Gray and co-directed by Good Vibes Creative Minds packs a huge punch. In the piece, Mans places herself in the shoes of a survivor combating the whispers of anonymous naysayers. Naysayers that have taken upon themselves to police the governing factors of what is to be considered assault and who can utter the word.
