A24’s forthcoming film Materialists is for the hopeless romantics. While theatergoers are ready to follow Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal’s love triangle, the studio hasn’t forgotten about music fanatics.

Just as the featured hits cinemas around the world, composer Daniel Pemberton has a sensual soundtrack to set the mood. On June 13, the same day as Materialists‘ worldwide release, its soundtrack will hit streaming platforms.

Across the 16 songs, listeners can dive into a new original song [“My Baby (Got Nothing At All)”] from Grammy Award-nominated rocker Japanese Breakfast. Another notable musician featured on the soundtrack is Baby Rose. Instead of penning an original record, Baby Rose covers Nico and The Velvet Underground’s “I’ll Be Your Mirror” and Nat King Cole’s “That’s All.”

Sun Ra founded the Sun Ra Arkestra in Chicago in the mid-1950’s. Sun Ra was among the earliest pioneers of the synthesizer and the freejazz revolution of 1960’s. Sun Ra sent a strong spiritual and musical message to his Arkestra wanting them to help make the universe betterthrough positive vibrations and music. The Sun Ra Arkestra are known worldwide for their live shows that combine big-band swing, space-age free jazz, be-bop, singing, dancing,chanting and Afro-pageantry. The Arkestra has been at the forefront of Afro-futurism since their inception. The Arkestra have recorded more than 100 albums. We Belong is the eighth studio album from Sinkane, a band led by multi-instrumentalist Ahmed Gallab. And like much Sinkaneʼs previous releases, it resists genre. Itʼs pop. Itʼs funk. Itʼs electronic. It blends the gritty punk newness of a 70s and 80s New York with the steady, foundational soul of the rhythms of his native Sudan. Though We Belong comes deep into the catalog of a long career, it also resists stagnation. It moves and travels— through words and eras, through emotion and healing. Gallab calls this album his “love letter to Black music,” and each track pulses with the energy of different eras and forms: the gospel-soaked “Everything Is Everything,” the dreamy, Quiet Storm-influenced Afro-beats of “Rise Above,” the 70s-funk of “We Belong” and its Sly Stone influence, the Stevie Wonder-edged “Another Day”—they tell a story about Black music and Black people. The album itself also reveals Gallabʼs desire to create a work that not only reflected a community, but was made by one, too. We Belong assembles this community, makes it visible, to anyone willing to see, to hear, to feel. Gallab and Amanda Khiri, co-lyricist on most of the songs, passed notes across the digital divide. Audre Lorde, Toni Morrison, Ismael Reed, scraps of poetry. The pair turned these late-night ideas into fully realized compositions. Casey Benjamin, a multi-instrumentalist who has worked with jazz pianist Robert Glasper, left his touch on several tracks. Jazz trumpeter Kenyatta Beasley soared across three songs. Soul singer Bilal lent his voice. Rising artists like vocalists Ifedayo Gatling, of the Harlem Gospel Travelers, Tru Osbourne, Hollie Cook, and STOUT, joined this community as well. What had long been a solo endeavor by Gallab, suddenly became a collaborative experience. “Having all these people at my disposal [meant] I could actually be a producer,” he says. “I could zoom out a little bit and see what serves the song best? How can I make this better? Having a community around me really just allowed this to turn into something bigger than I could have ever imagined.” The result is an album that showcases freedom, in all its forms. Freedom to create, to move, to love, to live. The we of the title is all of us. All of us who have lost and found community. All of us who have reached into the past to find our future. And ultimately, it is the sound of an artist finding his way back to himself by stretching beyond himself. “In making this album, I realized very quickly that I got a lot of freedom in not making it about myself,” Gallab says. “I realized I'm more than just me, there's all of us, all of us together. It's much more about community and much more about connecting with other people. But maybe, that's how I've kind of come to find myself.”

There’s a song on There’s A Whole World Out There, the second album by Canadian four-piece Arm’s Length, called “Palinopsia”. Derived from the Greek for “again” (palin) and “seeing” (opsia), it’s a visual phenomenon marked by the persistence of an image after the original stimulus has been removed. In other words, the presence of something that’s no longer actually there. It’s a song that singer and lyricist Allen Steinberg specifically wrote about “pure devotion or love towards someone that may no longer be a part of your life”, but it’s also something that applies to the record as a whole. Because throughout the course of the album’s 12 songs, Steinberg wrestles a good deal with the part of life that’s been and gone. At the same time, there is, he says, a noticeable difference between the person who wrote this record compared to the one who wrote Arm’s Length’s 2022 debut, Never Before Seen, Never Again Found. “I had the songs for the last record,” he explains, “since I was basically a teenager, but I had to write all of these ones fresh. So it speaks more to my life at the moment than the past, even though there’s still a good amount of past on it. But it’s how I’m dealing with it now, as opposed to being enveloped in it—there’s more a sense of being on the other side of it, of seeing it with hindsight. It’s still definitely a sad record, but I feel like the tone has shifted a little. I’m probably just a bit more mature, as my frontal lobe is developing as we speak.” Produced by Anton DeLost—who worked with the band on Never Before Seen, Never Again Found and 2021’s EP, Everything Nice—There’s A Whole World Out There does indeed expand Arm’s Length’s horizons in accordance with Steinberg’s developing frontal lobe, presenting him as more self-reflective contemplative than he was before. He wrote the parts for all the instruments, as well as the vast majority of the lyrics, alone in his room, and then brought those initial sketches, recorded as voice memos, to drummer Jeff Whyte, who added percussion to Steinberg’s song skeletons. While the majority of the creative process was in Steinberg’s hands, it was only when these songs were recorded as a full band with Jeremy Whyte, who played bass on the record, and Ben Greenblatt, that their full potential was realized. The result is that the feelings driving these songs burst and bloom with full force, building on the incredible foundations set by the band’s previous recorded output. Of course, since those releases, Arm’s Length’s profile has grown significantly. What had once been a more personal outlet for catharsis now has a dedicated following. Mostly written in the summer of 2024, the songs on this record largely reflect on the three year period before that, from when the band were tracking the previous album. That was when the frontman says he was the “most mentally ill” he’d ever been in his life, the result of various personal issues and anxieties. There were times during the writing process of this record where, in confronting that period, Steinberg worried that he was being too personal. “The band’s been doing better than any of us could have imagined,” he says, “and we have a following now. So I had to put myself in the headspace of ‘I’m not doing any of this for anyone else at all.’ I didn’t think about our fanbase at all when writing the songs. We’ve always been super honest lyrically, so we put that into overdrive on this record.” Indeed, Arm’s Length pull no punches here. From the moment “The World” starts proceedings, There’s A Whole World Out There unfolds with the dual torment and exhilaration of what it means to be alive—but with the knowledge and understanding that everything is also always lost. “Fatal Flaw” doubles down on the wistful longing that drives this record while also addressing what it means to be an artist who uses pain to create art, while the moving “Genetic Lottery” is a self-aware dig at that nostalgia that Steinberg has felt since he was young. Elsewhere, “The Wound” and “You Ominously End” —both of which feature some banjo playing—sees the singer counteract his confessionals with some deliciously black humor. The latter song—about someone who attempts to take their own life—also demonstrates Steinberg’s ability to write truth through fiction. For while the emotions in the song are raw, visceral and real, its narrative is complete invention. “It’s more about the fear of a friend doing something like that,” says Steinberg, “because you never know what they’re going through. People naturally lose touch with their friends. You still have this undying devotion or love for them, but you don’t always know how to reach out to them anymore because it’s been a super long time.” While that song, like most on the album, is designed to be played loud, there are also moments of delicate, tender nuance throughout. These songs sway and swell in correlation to the emotion contained within them, building up to devastating crescendos. Even the quiet, acoustic contemplation of “Early Onset” finds a way to do that. The biggest and most devastating crescendo, however, is the epic finale of “Morning Person”. Steinberg describes the song as “super dramatic” and “so emo”, and he’s not wrong—across six-and-a-half-minutes it revisits and reasserts the main themes of the record. It isn’t just heart on sleeve, but open-veined, a razor slicing all the way down this album’s arms to devastating effect. And yet, despite the raw vulnerability permeating that song, and the album as a whole, it’s also full of the same kind of resilience that Steinberg possessed in order to get through those trying few years—and, as a result, now being able to look back on them, if not with a smile, then at least with a palpable sense of relief. “It’s all about having some hindsight,” he says, “and being able to look back on the traumas that I talked about on the last record and which were present in my own life. I think that they’re still ever present on this album, but there’s a different mood and a shift in how I’m talking about the trauma. And “Morning Person” just wraps all that up, and everything I’m trying to say on this record. It’s accepting the damage is done, and then moving on.”

Our lives are measured by memory. Those moments that shift the space around you, pointing to a new door or a new face, changing the shape of what you thought you knew. They make up the neighborhood where we stroll past the challenges overcome, the comedy of errors, a hairpin bend and a learning curve or two. Ten years ago, Carmen Perry moved to Philadelphia with her band Remember Sports, fresh out of college and intent on creating art and music, no matter how tricky that path may be. Since then, her life has unfolded in ways she never expected, and it’s on her latest solo album Eyes Like A Mirror that Perry explores the people and places that make up the person she now sees reflected back at her. These songs stretch for miles, collecting the blurred colors and souvenirs that coalesce into the collage of her life. Some were written in 2015, when Perry’s uncertainty in a new city overwhelmed her every day, while others were crafted in recent years, shrinking time into a palm-sized totem. “It felt right to be lost,” she says of those initial years in Philadelphia. “My life doesn’t look like what I thought it was going to look like, but I’ve come to realise I really do need other people around me.” That’s the magic of looking for answers: you may never find the ones you’re expecting, but the ones you need may just reveal themselves. “I keep thinking every feeling is forever” she sings on opener ‘Wonderful,’ before declaring “I’m feeling nothing like before,” on the album’s second track ‘Glimmer.’ Truths start to crystalize, and a new face comes into focus. Eyes Like A Mirror was produced by Perry and co-produced by Friendship drummer and Dear Life Records co-founder Michael Cormier-O’Leary, and audio engineer Lucas Knapp (Friendship, Hour, Florry). Cormier O’Leary & Knapp also play throughout the LP, as well as a plethora of friends and collaborators: Remember Sports members Catherine Dwyer and Jack Washburn; 2nd grade’s Peter Gill; Friendship’s Jon Samuels and Boosegumps’ Heeyoon Won. It was mastered by M Deetz, who has completed works for the likes of Fust and 22º Halo. Perry’s songs are an ode to community and of seeing yourself through others, and it’s by working with those who have been close to her all these years, that she was able to fully step into her own sonic tapestry. There are flourishes of folk, and open-window harmonies; scratchy crescendos and bright, Spring-sweet melodies. ‘Readjust’––the first song Perry wrote as a resident of Philadelphia––mimics her apprehension with strolling, sidewalk-staring strums and a clamorous, kaleidoscopic chorus. Other voices join like peripheral conversations, while a distorted, chaotic guitar outro resembles the anxiety of taking the next step. “I get car sick on the way back home again,” she sings during the first verse, the yellow lines on the road never staying still long enough to form the foundation she is so eagerly seeking. The acoustic-country tones of ‘Not Today’ ruminate on the tricky territory of self-reflection: wishing you were a different person, feeling frustrated at your past mistakes, and the toll that takes on your mental health, while album closer ‘Pictures,’ bursts through with a path to move forward. As Perry describes taking down the photographs of a loved one, and of ‘wanting the whole world’ but being unsure of what to do with it, ‘Pictures’ speaks of the growth it takes to step away from what you know. Eyes Like A Mirror examines the infinite paths we could take, and the outstretched hands of the people we find along the way. It’s an ode to leaning into these different versions of ourselves, and the turmoil it can take to unfurl our fullest potential. It’s learning things the hard way and feeling gratitude for making it through. Perry has crafted a collection of songs that feel like the weathered edges of a photograph housed in a wallet, or a years-old voicemail from a friend, laughing at some dumb inside joke you can barely remember the context of. Comfort, regret, joy and instability coexist without friction, because without the pains of taking a wrong step, or the space to celebrate how far you’ve come, the reflection in the mirror might never change.

New York City and Los Angeles-based Iranian songwriter, producer, and vocalist Kris Esfandiari, also known as King Woman, released a striking full-length album called Celestial Blues, on July 30, 2021 via Relapse Records. Kris Esfandiari (NGHTCRWLR, Dalmatian, Miserable, Sugar High) founded King Woman in 2009 as a solo project which later gained the talents of drummer Joseph Raygoza. Now wiser and holding less animosity than King Woman’s previous sentiments on 2014 EP Doubt and highly-esteemed 2017 full length Created in The Image of Suffering, the fantasy world that once plagued Kris’ psyche is dancing in a new light on Celestial Blues. Feeling compelled to reshape the biblical archetypes that once bound her, Esfandiari has created a theatrical tale of rebellion, tragedy, and triumph — a metaphor for her own personal experiences over the years — Celestial Blues was born. Several years ago, Kris Esfandiari had the sudden urge to recount a near death experience she had as a child. This severe event was followed by a string of hysterical black out episodes. Esfandiari would wake with a feeling that she was being ripped from her body. Esfandiari’s words evolved into a poem called “Celestial Blues” which later became the title for King Woman’s long awaited full-length sophomore album. While uncovering the vision for her latest record, Esfandiari was reintroduced to John Milton’s Paradise Lost after a stranger gifted her an old copy at a party. As she became reacquainted with this epic poem, Esfandiari was transported back to her childhood. Esfandiari’s immigrant parents often held church at home, where she was exposed to exorcisms, spiritual warfare, and sermons about heaven and hell. Esfandiari sets a dramatic tone for the record with “Morning Star” echoing the primeval account of Lucifer’s fall from grace. Esfandiari smugly whispers: “you know it could have been you / so don’t you dare judge the things that I do” — the fallen archangel in deceitful persuasion. Esfandiari is accompanied by the beastly drumming of Joseph Raygoza and Peter Arendorf’s heavy-laden guitar — masterfully stirring the listener with every sparse, emotional pluck. King Woman once again, takes us to church with hardcore gospel, “Coil”. “Five wounds you rape me / but I resurrect” declares Esfandiari in unhinged jubilation. Esfandiari desperately begs to be absolved in the crazed offerings of “Psychic Wound”, ultimately regaining a powerful reflection of herself after a provocative yet tormenting dance with the Devil. Celestial Blues was recorded in December 2019 in Oakland, California with Grammy-nominated producer, Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Amenra, Oathbreaker, etc). In addition, King Woman teamed up with photographer Nedda Afsari, as well as designers Jamie Parkhurst and Collin Fletcher for visual packaging. Celestial Blues certainly feels like a play. Esfandiari changes costume and set with each distinct song, breathing new life into a magnificent, age-old tale. King Woman never ceases to transcend this mundane realm of afflictions only to plunge the listener back down into pandemonium. The curtain lifts, Esfandiari bows, making peace with her weighty past.

Brooklyn rapper Leikeli47's infectious, and sometimes experimentally raucous rhyme and production styles draw from hip-hop, R&B, and house. On her mixtapes, EPs, and trilogy of "Beauty Series" albums -- 2017's Wash & Set, 2018's Acrylic, and 2022's Shape Up -- she shared her empowering, funny, sad, and thought-provoking experiences as a Black woman, wearing a signature ski mask to keep the focus on her music. On 2025's Lei Keli ft. 47 / For Promotional Use Only, no mask was needed to spotlight her vibrance and versatility. Born in Virginia and raised there and in Brooklyn, Leikeli grew up shy, lonely, and bullied, but she knew she wanted to make music at an early age. Inspired by N.E.R.D, Lauryn Hill, Lil' Kim, Wu-Tang, and Jay-Z, she began creating songs in the early 2000s, using whatever she could to make beats (she once forged a rhythm by tapping on a microphone's pop filter). In 2009, she posted her songs online, eventually issuing 2010's self-produced mixtape LK-47, Pt. I and following it with 2013's EP The Flower Shop as Told by Brett Elway. By the time she delivered LK-47, Pt. II in 2014, she was opening for Skrillex and Diplo at Madison Square Garden. After signing to RCA, Leikeli47 released a self-titled EP on the label. Along with guesting on tracks by Baauer ("Day Ones"), AlunaGeorge ("Mean What I Mean"), and Pussy Riot ("Straight Outta Vagina"), Jay-Z featured her single "Fuck the Summer Up" on a streaming playlist of the same name in 2015. That year also saw the release of LK-47, Pt. III. Leikeli47's music appeared multiple times on the soundtrack to HBO's series Insecure in 2017, the same year she issued her debut album for RCA, that September's Wash & Set. The first release in a trilogy exploring beauty, empowerment, and identity, the record won praise for its brash wordplay and eclectic sounds. Also in 2017, Leikeli performed with Pharrell at ComplexCon. Leikeli47 returned with November 2018's Acrylic, a harder-edged set of tracks featuring production by Clyde N Harry, Charlie Burrill, Mike Barney, and Gavin Williams. She supported the album with her first headlining tour, and offered the first taste of her third album with August 2020's single "Zoom." Shape Up, the final installment of the "Beauty Series" trilogy, appeared in May 2022. Executive-produced by Harold Lilly and featuring production work by Barney, Bah, and others alongside Leikeli, the album ranged from brash, celebratory tracks to tender ballads and featured a cameo from fashion runway coach Miss J. Alexander. That December, she released the single "Impossible Things," which sampled Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody." Alternative R&B artist Gallant is known for a striking falsetto, heartfelt narratives, and a seemingly natural ability to adapt to any production style. The singer and songwriter made his full-length debut with the Grammy-nominated Ology (2016), and has since issued even more vulnerable and expressive projects such as Sweet Insomnia (2019), Neptune (2021), and Zinc. (2024). Between the latter two, he teamed with Terrace Martin to record a short, self-titled album under the name sneek. A native of Maryland, Christopher Gallant attended New York University and relocated to Los Angeles following graduation. Across 2013 and 2014, he self-released a series of dusky singles, as well as an EP, Zebra. Having impressed Jake Udell, manager of EDM acts Krewella and ZHU, Gallant then associated with David Dann's Mind of a Genius label, the Warner Bros.-supported outlet for the 2015 releases "Open Up," "Talking in Your Sleep," "Learn to Fly" (a Foo Fighters cover), and "Weight in Gold." Like the earlier tracks, these songs enhanced Gallant's expressive vocals with deep-probing bass and shadowy layers of percussion and keyboards. His debut album, Ology, followed in 2016 along with "Skipping Stones," a single co-produced by Adrian Younge and Stint that featured guest vocalist Jhené Aiko. A number 39 hit on Billboard's R&B/hip-hop chart, Ology was later nominated for a 2016 Grammy Award in the category of Best Urban Contemporary Album. A string of singles and collaborations during the next couple years led to the 2019 release of Sweet Insomnia, Gallant's second full-length, with Sabrina Claudio and 6LACK as guest vocalists. Gallant then went independent, and in March 2021 returned with Neptune, a self-released EP featuring appearances from Brandy, Arin Ray, and VanJess. In 2023, he linked with Terrace Martin for his most organic recording, issued under the duo alias sneek. Released that November, sneek was highlighted by the lead single "311!," featuring trumpet from Keyon Harrold and keyboards from Robert Glasper. Gallant made his third solo full-length primarily with Latin Grammy-nominated producer Ariza (Camilo, Dua Lipa, Lalah Hathaway) and additional assistance from the likes of Stint, Biako, and Ralph Castelli. The swirling album, titled Zinc., landed in September 2024. With a unique spin on dreamy indie pop that's both jazzy and psychedelic, Crumb is a four-piece led by main songwriter Lila Ramani. The band issued a pair of EPs from college in Massachusetts before moving to Brooklyn to record their full-length debut, 2019's soporific Jinx. In 2021, they issued their sophomore effort, Ice Melt, which slightly clarified off-kilter atmospheres. They were still distinctively spaced-out, however, on more enlivened 2023 singles like "Crushxd" and "Dust Bunny, " both of which paved the way for 2024's Amama. Established by Tufts University students in the mid-2010s, Crumb consists of Lila Ramani (vocals, guitar), Brian Aronow (synths, keyboards), Jesse Brotter (bass), and Jonathan Gilad (drums). While still based in Massachusetts, they recorded the three-track Crumb EP with producer John Scott, releasing it in 2016. The Locket EP followed in 2017. After some headlining dates, they joined (Sandy) Alex G and Hovvdy on a tour of the U.S. later that same year. Crumb then relocated to Ramani's native Brooklyn and co-produced their debut album with Gabe Wax, bringing in Scott for additional production and mixing. The resulting Jinx arrived on Crumb Records in 2019. For their next album, the band convened in Los Angeles with producer Jonathan Rado. More refined but still offering wonky atmospheres, the resulting Ice Melt arrived in April 2021. More rhythmically invigorated 2023 singles such as "Crushxd" and "Dust Bunny" found them rejoining Rado and adding producer Johnscott Sanford (John Legend, Saweetie) to the mix. As NPR writes, “siblings Clyde and Gracie Lawrence are not your typical pair.” Clyde Lawrence and Gracie Lawrence have been writing songs and listening to countless Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, and Aretha Franklin records in their family’s New York City apartment since they were little kids. After years of playing together, they officially created Lawrence, an eight-piece soul-pop band comprised of musician friends from childhood and college. The band has since gained a devoted following for its high-energy, keyboard-driven sound, which features tight, energetic horns and explosive lead vocals. In 2024, Lawrence entered a new era with the release of their fourth studio album, Family Business. The album’s opening track, "Whatcha Want", broke into the Top 40 on the US Pop Chart, and Lawrence recently performed it on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Today With Hoda & Jenna, and CBS Saturday Morning. The album was accompanied by their biggest headline tour yet across Europe and North America, which included iconic sold out shows at venues across Europe and North America like Radio City Music Hall in New York City, The Wiltern in Los Angeles, two nights at the Forum in London, and North Sea Jazz Festival in Rotterdam. Live shows and touring continue to be key components of the group’s success; in 2025 Lawrence will be back on the road, taking “The Family Business Tour (Part 2)” to Australia for the first time, as well as returning to Europe, the UK, and the US for another round of their headline show. In previous years, Lawrence opened for The Rolling Stones and the Jonas Brothers. They’ve also toured with acts such as Lake Street Dive, Vulfpeck, Jon Bellion, Jacob Collier, Soulive, O.A.R., and Bernhoft, and appeared at major festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, Firefly, Okeechobee, Hangout, and Summerfest. The band released a docuseries from their adventures on the road of their Hotel TV Tour, which is available on YouTube. The series concluded with an episode dedicated to the retirement of their beloved touring van - affectionately named Vandy Newman - marking the shift into the next chapter of their life as a touring band. In July 2021, Lawrence released their album, Hotel TV, and became the first band to release music under Beautiful Mind Records, the label of Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/artist Jon Bellion, who co-produced and co-wrote the songs on the album. The tracks on Hotel TV have garnered tens of millions of streams across all platforms and have had multiple viral moments on Tik Tok and Instagram. The album’s lead single, “Don’t Lose Sight,” was featured in an international Microsoft commercial, which propelled it into the Top 20 on the USA Shazam Pop Charts, and also hit #33 on Top 40. The band performed “Don’t Lose Sight” on Jimmy Kimmel Live, did a performance of it for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and closed both of their sets at Coachella with it (with the entire audience singing along)! The band also played a single “23” off of the Family Business album live during their set at Jingle Ball in 2023. In addition to creating music, in December 2022, Clyde Lawrence wrote an article published by the New York Times regarding the unfair dynamics that artists face in the live music industry as a result of the merging of Ticketmaster and Live Nation. In January 2023, Clyde Lawrence and Jordan Cohen were invited to testify at a U.S. Senate Judiciary hearing in Washington, D.C., on the topic of live event ticketing. They sat alongside other industry professionals, as well as antitrust experts, to deliver testimony about their experiences as a touring band playing in Live Nation-owned venues across the U.S. Lawrence and Cohen continue to spread the word about the challenges in the live event promotion and ticketing space in conversations with outlets like NBC News, Vice News, Politico, and more. Outside of the band, Gracie Lawrence is an accomplished actress. In 2024, she appeared as a series regular in the third season of Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble’s The Sex Lives of College Girls on Max, playing the character of Kacey. Her acting career continues in 2025 with an exciting return to Broadway starring opposite Tony winner Jonathan Groff in Alex Timbers’ “JUST IN TIME”, a new musical that tells the story of legendary singer Bobby Darin. Her other television acting credits include "Billions," a series regular role on "One Dollar," formerly on CBS All Access, as well as roles in films like Amy Poehler’s "Moxie" on Netflix, Rhys Ernst’s "Adam," and the Disney+ comedy "Noelle." Meanwhile, Clyde has contributed songs and full instrumental scores to a number of major films and TV shows (often in collaboration with bandmate Jordan Cohen or frequent collaborator Cody Fitzgerald), including Hulu’s Animaniacs, Disney’s Noelle, HBO’s The Jinx, and Amazon’s Landline, among many others. Lastly, a music production team called The Diner, consisting of Clyde, Jordan, and Jonny Koh, have written and produced songs for many artists beyond Lawrence, including Jonas Brothers, Shawn Mendes, Tori Kelly, Jon Bellion, Alec Benjamin, Trousdale and others.

Southern roots rockers Larkin Poe are led by core members Rebecca and Megan Lovell, formerly the Lovell Sisters. A bit edgier and rockier than the Lovell Sisters, Larkin Poe's electric and slide guitar riffs quickly earned them comparisons to the Allman Brothers. After introducing their sound on a set of seasonal EPs in 2010, they topped the Billboard blues chart with their fourth long-player, 2018's Venom & Faith, returning to number one with 2020's Self Made Man. They kept the amps cranked up for their sixth studio full-length, 2022's Grammy-winning Blood Harmony. Bloom, emphasizing the duo's storytelling skills, arrived in 2025. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Larkin Poe took shape after the Lovell Sisters called it a day in 2009. The sisters, a bluegrass/Americana trio comprised of siblings Rebecca, Megan, and Jessica Lovell, had started performing professionally in 2005 when all three were still in their teens. The group released two independent albums and toured the festival circuit regularly before Jessica stepped away and the group disbanded. Rebecca (lead vocals, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, mandolin, piano) and Megan (harmony vocals, lap steel guitar, dobro) went forward as Larkin Poe, named after the sisters' great-great-great-grandfather, who was a distant cousin of writer Edgar Allan Poe. In 2010, the group independently released a quartet of EPs corresponding to each of the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. A fifth EP, Thick as Thieves, followed in 2011, and the concert video Live from Stongfjorden appeared in 2012. The sisters followed that with a pair of low-key collaborative records: The Sound of the Ocean Sound with Thom Hell was issued by Edvins Records, and Killing Time with Blair Dunlop arrived on Rooksmere Records, both in 2013. Larkin Poe made their full-length debut with Kin in 2014. It would prove to be a banner year for the group, with acclaimed U.K. performances at the Glastonbury Festival and London's O2 Arena as well as participation in producer T-Bone Burnett's project Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes. In 2015, the sisters were featured on several tracks of Elvis Costello's Detour: Live at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. A revamped edition of Kin titled Reskinned was released by Universal Records in 2016. The following year, the siblings issued Peach, a mix of blues covers and original material that showed off their Southern musical heritage. It made its way onto the Billboard independent albums chart, peaking at 49. Their fourth studio album, the Grammy-nominated Venom & Faith (Best Contemporary Blues Album), was released by Amplified Media Services in 2018. It reached number 14 on the same chart as well as becoming their first album to appear on the Americana/folk chart and the blues chart, where it went all the way to number one. They came back with two albums in 2020: June's Self Made Man returned them to the top of the blues chart, and November's Kindred Spirits reached number three. The latter was a covers album paying tribute to influences including Elvis Presley, Neil Young, and Lenny Kravitz. That year, they were one of the headliners at the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai, India in addition to headlining their own U.S. tour. Larkin Poe next teamed up with the Nu Deco Ensemble for the 2021 live album Paint the Roses. Their sixth studio album, Blood Harmony, followed in November of 2022. It was co-produced by Larkin Poe and Rebecca's husband, Texas blues-rocker Tyler Bryant. Blood Harmony won the award for Best Contemporary Blues Album at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards in 2024.
