To be a rookie, Oakland rapper Jane Handcock exudes the poise of an industry veteran. The West Coast native’s easy-going attitude along with the dashing of Bay Area swagger is quite refreshing. Her new single, “Fye” featuring Mani Draper off her new project, Fa Real, is a chill laid-back Lo-Fi mood motivation bop.
On the track, Hancock describes what fuels her inner ambition to push through in an industry whose slowly embracing diversity amongst the women Hip-Hop acts; the answer support from family and friends is the driving force behind her pen.
The 8-track project in which “Fye” is featured serves as a solid foundation for the budding rap star and I am looking forward to seeing how her career progresses over time.
