South London, England singer and songwriter Jake Isaac has released a new single “Gold” in anticipation of his forthcoming album, Honesty, which will be out March 5 (via AntiFragile Music). This release comes as Isaac continues to drop singles in anticipation of the album.
On “Gold”, he sings passionately with a soft guitar, a shimmering organ, and backing vocals surrounding his unique voice. The song is a collaboration with four-time Grammy-winning singer India.Arie, who lends her voice to a beautiful solo verse, before singing a final two choruses with Isaac.
Explaining the process of making the song, Isaac wrote on social media, “this song was written on my kitchen floor in one evening in March 2020 in the beginning of the pandemic. It was then graced with the voice of a woman who literally inspired me (and millions of others) to pick up a guitar and sing.”
Continuing on to praise Arie while expressing his gratitude, Isaac called her “a pioneer” and thanked her for accepting his offer to collaborate.
