Indigo De Souza Fights To ‘Be Like The Water’ On Their New Self-Assured ‘Precipice’ Single

Later this month, Indigo De Souza fans will be treated to a new body of work. So far, Indigo has shared two singles (“Crying Over Nothing” and “Heartthrob”) from their forthcoming album, Precipice.

Each of Indigo’s previous drops provides supporters with an intimate understanding of their emotional bandwidth. On “Be Like The Water,” Indigo’s latest Precipice single continues down that creative thread.

The stern, stomping bass line in “Be Like The Water” and its perfectly syncopated snaps create the ideal environment for a sonic convergence of electro pop and alternative. Indigo’s lyrical manifesto serves as the icing on the Precipice single cake.

“Be like the water / Go where you’re going / Say what you need to / You know you’re dying I won’t be sorry / And I won’t be silent / I’m temporary / I am an island / Even if you do it, it’s okay to change your mind,” sings Indigo.

In a statement shared with fans, Indigo outlined the inspiration behind “Be Like The Water.”

“It’s about listening to your inner self and respecting your gut instinct,” wrote Indigo. “Whether it’s leaving the room, leaving the conversation, or leaving a toxic relationship, you have the power to make a change, and life is too precious to waste your spirit.”

Indigo added: “My favorite lyric in the song is, ‘You can leave if you want to / And you don’t have to say why.”
