Essex, England singer and songwriter Sam Eagle continues to make a name for himself thanks in part to his unique and eclectic style of pop. His latest single “How Often?”, the lead single from forthcoming EP She’s So Nice due out April 16 (via Cooking Vinyl).

This release comes just three months after his last EP Something Out of Nothing. On “How Often” he expands his sound from the usual sparse arrangements, adding colorful pops of funky guitars and horns without sacrificing the rich vocals and big basslines the genre’s listeners are already familiar with.

On the day of the song’s release, Eagle reflected on his writing process and the meaning of the song pening “I wanted to write a track that was fun, colourful, weird in a cool way, rhythm-based, and structurally interesting.” Later sharing the inspiration behind the track stating, “the concept behind the song is a musical journey, following someone who is pretty confident in what they’re doing, then losing their way, then reflecting on things and finding an answer to a problem at the end.”
