Who could have thought that a happenstance introduction back in 2024 would birth a genre-shifting dynamic duo? Multi-instrumentalists Helado Negro and Reyna Tropical surely didn’t. But that is precisely what happened when they decided to form Helado Tropical.
The group’s mission, according to them, is to create “within a shared world where each artist expresses something individual and collective.”
In a statement shared with ENVERT, the duo spoke about their creative process.
“It’s not about us speaking to each other,” said Helado Negro. “It’s about us existing in the same feeling.”
Reyna Tropical chimed, “It was a lot of processing, a lot of transition. This is supposed to be released so we could keep going. I really feel like this album does that personally and hopefully is able to hold that for other people too.”
Simply put, Helado Tropical, in their eyes, “encapsulates a moment of two artists meeting at the right moment, with the right openness, allowing something larger than either of them to take shape.”

Supporting Tour
Last month the duo hit the road to tease their collaborative project alongside special guests CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso. But the 4-show sample in Toronto, Detroit, Montreal, and Boston was only an appetizer. On August 12, Helado Tropical will officially launch their 19-date trek across North America.
