Hayley Williams’ mission for total independence is going strong. Since Paramore’s separation from Atlantic Records, fans wondered where the band would land. Well, for the “Simmer” singer, she has taken her solo career into her own hands.
For her latest solo studio album, Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party, Williams formed the label Post Atlantic. But with the body of work’s physical release on the horizon, Hayley Williams’ label venture needs some distribution support.
In a new announcement, Hayley Williams’ Post Atlantic revealed its partnership with Secretly Distribution. Through this freshly established global distribution deal, Secretly Distribution will provide physical and digital distribution, digital and retail marketing, and financial and technological support for all Post Atlantic releases.
“I chose to go with Secretly because one of the founders told me they’d always be independent because his co-founder ‘would never take the money’ and that just made my little punk rock heart sing,” said Williams in a statement. “What a luxury to be able to sort of start my career over in this way, with more connectedness amongst the team. And ownership for the first time ever.”
Evan Whikehart, Secretly Distribution’s head of label & shared services, echoed the excitement.
“It is a thrill to work with Hayley Williams and her team on this incredible album and creative campaign,” said Whikehart. “The fact that such an accomplished and iconic artist elected to self-release with Secretly Distribution and our Label Services team is a testament to the growing power of independence in the music industry today.
