Event Details

Eric Gabriel is an NYC born and raised songwriter, pianist, and producer Once generously described as somewhere between Bootsy Collins and Willie Nelson, Gabriel is occasionally groovy, at times introspective, and always pulling from a wide array of folk, soul, and 70s rock. Gabrielʼs debut solo album, Samara, is coming out in March 2025. The album was recorded almost entirely live to tape with no headphones, isolation, or playback in Bedstuy with producer Philip Weinrobe (Adrianne Lenker, Florist). Though this is his first solo release, Gabriel co-founded Melt where he writes, sings, and plays keys. Called “one groovy super-organism” by NPR, he has completed numerous North America headline tours as well as supported a wide array of artists such as Grouplove and Lawrence. Melt released their debut record in 2024 with producer Sam Evian (Big Thief). Gabrielʼs solo project will resonate with fans of Melt who are familiar with his writing style as well as appeal to a more indie and folk-oriented audience.
