The Clipse‘s return to music sent a shockwave through the hip-hop community. After a 15-year hiatus, Pusha T and Malice had a lot to get off their chest. Their long-awaited studio album, Let God Sort Em Out, was met with rave reviews, and now it has another affirming approval.
Yesterday (February 1), at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Clipse took home the gramophone for Best Rap Performance — marking their first. Clipse’s breakout Let God Sort Em Out track “Chains & Whips” featuring Kendrick Lamar and Pharrell Williams beat out Cardi B’s “Outside,” Doechii’s “Anxiety,” Kendrick Lamar’s “tv off” featuring Lefty Gunplay, and Tyler, The Creator’s “Darling, I” featuring Teezo Touchdown.
While the category was called early and was not televised, Clipse did express their gratitude for the career milestone on the Grammys livestream.
“We already took one home for Best Rap Performance,” exclaimed Pusha T. “So, we’re happy for that. ‘Chains & Whips.’ Shoutout to Kendrick Lamar. We already won for the night.”
Malice followed that up with: “It feels great! Starting the night off right with one win just feels good. ‘Chains & Whips,’ of course, shoutout to Kendrick [Lamar]. It’s been a great night so far.”
