Bebe Rexha is no stranger to the music charts. Yet, the “New Religion” singer just hit another professional milestone. With the numbers officially crunched, Bebe Rexha’s new album, Dirty Blonde, has landed the No. 1 spot on Billboard‘s Top Dance Albums chart (as of June 27).
Debuting atop the chart is an impressive feat for any act, but for the songwriter it is especially special. Dirty Blonde, Rexha’s fourth studio album, is her first independent release. So, to not only earn the No. 1 spot but also to debut atop the chart marks the first time Rexha has accomplished this feat.
Over on Billboard‘s Instagram page, Rexha shared a video reaction (viewable here) to the news.
“I just found out that ‘Dirty Blonde’ is number one on the dance charts, and I feel like I can’t believe it,” said Rexha. “Like, is this real? I’ll probably process this when I’m on the plane or by myself ugly crying.”
She continued, “I’m so thankful for my fans and for everyone that has streamed the album. Purchased the album. But most importantly, supported me throughout the years. This win is our win.”
Back on June 18, Bebe encouraged fans to support in any way they could as the project marked her first release as an independent artist. Atop the year, Bebe Rexha inked a partnership deal with EMPIRE to support her musical releases after splitting with Warner.
