The Paper Garden Records roster is expanding. Today (June 5), the label with offices in Brooklyn and London announced the signing of their newest act.
In an email sent out to supporters, a Paper Garden representative confirmed Asteroid Lily inked a deal with the label. The electropop duo, which is comprised of singer-songwriter Jo and producer/synth player Spiros Maus, is wasting no time building their discography.
Within the announcement, the label shared their debut single, “You & I.”
“It sounds like late-night drives with nowhere to be,” wrote a rep for the label describing Asteroid Lily’s song. “Like staring out the window convinced the world could still become something bigger. Synths shimmer beneath emotional vocals as the song drifts between nostalgia, devotion, and wide-eyed possibility.”
In a statement included in Paper Garden’s reveal, Asteroid Lily revealed the inspiration behind “You & I.”
“There’s something bittersweet running through it,” said the duo. “It’s the rush of dreaming about escape, endless love, and all the adventures still waiting ahead while quietly knowing nothing stays the same forever. The song moves between intimacy and imagination, turning ordinary moments into something cosmic.”
To close out their support-only newsletter, Paper Garden Records revealed the title, cover art, and pre-save link for Asteroid Lily’s upcoming album (Synth & Sparkle). However, the forthcoming project’s expected release date was not shared.
