Here’s Everything We Know About: Anjimile’s Album ‘You’re Free to Go’

Can musical lightning strike three times? That’s what Anjimile fans are praying for. Next week, the “Like You Really Mean It” singer’s long-awaited follow-up to 2023’s The King.

On March 13, Anjimile will release his third studio album, You’re Free to Go via 4AD. The body of work, which was years in the making, examines one question: what happens when you let go and let love in?

Lead singles “Waits for Me” and “Like You Really Mean It” dove into themes of breakups to new love, deep grief and loss to renewal and rediscovery. If you enjoyed those pockets of introspection, there is more of that to come.

In a statement shared with ENVERT, Anjimile spoke about the creative process that went into crafting You’re Free to Go.

“The past two years have been a deeply transitional point in my life,” said Anjimile. “This record feels very authentic to my life experiences. It’s about as close to getting to know me as you could ever get with a record.”

At the helm of You’re Free to Go‘s production is Brad Cook (Waxahatchee, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Mavis Staples). Other collaborators include musicians Nathan Stocker (Hippo Campus) and Matt McCaughan (Bon Iver), as well as guest vocals from Sam Beam (Iron & Wine).
