Don’t call it a comeback, Anjimile has been here for years! Ambientfolk singer Anjimile is no stranger to fans of the genre after rising through the Boston independent music scene which landed them a coveted spot on NPR’s 20 Artists to Watch list last year.
Following the warm reception from past projects Maker Mixtape and Colors, the queer & trans songmaker is gearing for his forthcoming album, Giver Taker on Father/Daugther Records.
Although the album’s lead single, “Maker”, is a re-release from the Maker Mixtape, the self-described as “mix of 80’s pop, Malawi music and The Lion King” even a year later the track’s lyrics continue to speak to the times.
With background vocals and synth by Photocomfort (Justine Bowe), “Maker” is a relatable raw track and the new lyric video illustrated by Gemma Tracy-Burns helps to cement those emotions to listeners. Check out the full video below!
Anjimile’s Father/Daughter Records debut album, Giver Take is set to drop on September 18th. To pre-order or pre-save, click here.

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
