The time to award Americana acts for their musical contributions is nearly upon us. On May 22, the Americana Music Association rolled out their Americana Honors & Awards nomination list.
Come September 16, country, folk, and Americana recording artists will duke it out for a trophy at the 2026 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony. Leading the nomination pack is none other than Margo Price, S.G. Goodman, Brandi Carlile, and Mon Rovîa with two nominations each.
Price’s Hard Headed Woman and Goodman’s Planting by the Signs will battle it out for Album of the Year. While Goodman (“Snapping Turtle”), Brandi Carlile (“Returning To Myself”), and Mon Rovîa (“Heavy Foot”) will face off in the Song of the Year category. Lastly, Price and Carlile will duke it out for Artist of the Year.
Mon Rovîa is also nominated for Emerging Act of the Year. Another notable nominee includes Turnpike Troubadours (Duo/Group of the Year).
But it is important to mention the Instrumentalist of the Year category was notably absent from the Americana Music Association’s public reveal. So, on the organization’s official Instagram page a representative shut down speculation that the category was nixed.
“This year, the Instrumentalist of the Year category will be presented at a later date,” wrote the rep in a statement (viewable here). “This award remains an important part of our Americana Honors & Awards, and it will continue to be part of the ceremony at the Ryman Auditorium in September.”

The 2026 Americana Honors & Awards are set to take place on September 16, 2026. The ceremony will be held inside of the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee.
