In response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, leading independent music trade association, the A2IM, is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the music community.
Their annual Indie Week Conference, as well as the Libera Awards, will be held virtually. In an official statement post to their website, the organization writes, “we at A2IM place your safety and that of our attendees and staff above all other considerations. As we cannot be certain that travel or large gatherings, especially in New York City, will be safe by this June, our A2IM Indie Week and the Libera Awards will be held on the same dates, June 15-18, 2020, but as a virtual event.
We are committed to presenting world-class events and providing education, community, and advocacy for our members. We are currently building out these opportunities and we will share additional details of both Indie Week and the Libera Awards as soon as possible. But for now, if you have any questions please contact your membership representative. Please note that A2IM will be in contact in the coming weeks with all ticket holders regarding next steps.
All of us at A2IM are grateful to you, our members, who show us time and again, the importance of community. Gathering every June to share our unique experiences, learn from leaders of our sector, and network with our peers has become an Independent rite of passage. We hear you and we thank you. This year will be no exception and we look forward to coming together again, this June, in a new and exciting way.”
