Last month, rock band Narrow Head celebrated the 10 year anniversary of their debut record, “Satisfaction,” with a string of intimate shows. But, that isn’t the only joyous news coming its members.
Longtime guitarist, backing vocalist, synthesizer Kora Puckett is stepping firmly into his solo exploration. Back in 2024, the musician released a three-pack EP 3 Songs to explore other creative avenues. Now, Puckett is looking to expand his solo discography.
On November 3, Kora Puckett to Instagram to announce his new label home and his debut single “In My Veins.”
“[In My Veins] is out now on Todo Records,” wrote the musician.
Co-produced alongside Jimmy Dixon, “In My Veins” is a clash of everything fans have come to love from Puckett. From punching instrumentation, a warm steady groove, and lyrics that tug at your heartstrings, “In My Veins” serves as the coziest way to reintroduce Puckett as a solo act.
“I took a long look at the other side / And I asked myself, do I feel alright? / My soul, a moment I can’t let go / I feel it in my veins,” sings Puckett.
Puckett appear to be lost in world, mentally scrambled, and emotionally distorted but “In My Veins” prove that is solid at least on one front—his solo sound.
Puckett wasn’t the only instrumentalist with his hands in “In My Veins.” Electric guitarist Matt Berry & Drake Ritter, acoustic guitarist Steve Marino, bassist Ryan Gavel, and drummer Ben Lumsdaine all played a vital role in making “In My Veins” the infectious record that it is.
In a statement shared with ENVERT, Puckett described the greater creative significance behind “In My Veins.”
“It was the start of a new ethos for me with music,” professed Puckett. “[To] keep things loose and open; surround yourself with artists who you love that you can lean on.”
