This year has been filled with notable album anniversaries. For Seattle-based independent record label Sub Pop, one of its monumental milestones is none other than clipping.‘s 2016 album, Splendor & Misery.
To celebrate the body of work’s 10th anniversary, members rapper Daveed Diggs as well as producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes announced Splendor & Misery Fest, an extravagant event to commemorate the project.
On August 13, clipping. will headline the multi-stage venue takeover in New York City with a slew of special guests at Knockdown Center. After teasing several acts, Splendor & Misery Fest’s final lineup features SPELLLING, Shabazz Palaces, ELUCID, Fatboi Sharif, Evicshen, Maria Chavez, Nate Wooley, Sharon Udoh, Ted Byrnes, Michael Foster, and Webb Crawford.
In a promotional video shared on Instagram, Diggs reflected on the project, saying, “[‘Splendor & Misery’ was] one of my favorite things I’ve ever been a part of and we are throwing the fest to celebrate it.”
While gushing over the festival’s lineup, Diggs ensured followers that the supporting acts were hand-picked by the group and some of their favorite musicians.
“Evicshen is [one of the] top five acts I’ve ever seen in my life,” declared Diggs.
In addition to the celebratory festival, clipping. will roll out 50 limited edition hand-screen-printed vinyls which will only be available onsite at Knockdown Center.
