Supergroup Dinner Party is back! Following their 2023 album Enigmatic Society, the collective, which comprises Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder, has another tantalizing body of work to share.
This time in collaboration with producer, multi-instrumentalist, and vocalist Phoelix, Dinner Party welcomes you to feast on Whatchu Bringing?. The 9-track album continues to pull on the sonic thread woven across their 2020 self-titled debut and charismatic sophomore release Enignmatic Society.
Musically, Whatchu Bringing? is about a warm, limitless creative embrace of the genres, sonic, and artistic expressions that were forcibly separated by categoric labels for neat marketing. No matter what title or classification a listener finds themselves boxed under, Dinner Party requires that you leave that segregated way of enjoying art behind.
Instead, as the album’s liner notes read, Whatchu Bringing? commands you to “pull up a seat” and let the groove shower you in its eclectic symphony of sounds. After giving supporters the singles, “If It Ain’t Broke (Love Wins)” featuring Phoelix and “Peace Of Mind,” to nibble on, the project will hit streaming platforms in its entirety later this week.
