Back in October 2025, Grammy Award-nominated recording artist Remy Ma launched her self-titled ad-supported streaming network. But come next month the “Conceited” rapper will be plastered across another notable cable channel.
Today (May 29), Lifetime shared the trailer for its forthcoming Remy Ma-led original film, Don’t Trust The Girls Upstairs. The psychological thriller, directed by David Weaver, follows Ashley Preston (played by Remy Ma), “whose life begins unraveling after she and her husband (played by Garfield Wilson) take in her orphaned teenage niece following the sudden death of Ashley’s estranged sister.”
The movie’s full synopsis as listed on IMDb reads, “In the wake of her estranged sister’s death, Ashley finds herself caring for her niece, who she’s never met before. As they grapple with their shared loss, Ashley must uncover the truth that lurks beneath her own roof before it’s too late.”
If the plot of this movie sounds familiar, you are not going crazy. Don’t Trust The Girls Upstairs is based on the book. My Sister’s Daughter, by the bestselling author duo Liv Constantine (Lynne and Valerie Constantine), who serve as executive producers.
The confirmed cast of Don’t Trust the Girls Upstairs includes Sasha Rojen, Aliyah Marc, Jayden Oniah, and Erin Morgan.
