For many Rolling Loud festival goers, they fondly reflect back on their experience as “movie-like.” Well, this fall, the music programming beast will actually appear on the big screen.
Earlier this month, Deadline exclusively shared the theatrical release date for Rolling Loud, starring actor Owen Wilson and comedian Matt Rife.
On September 18, rap and movie lovers alike can catch the forthcoming comedy, scripted and directed by Jeremy Garelick, in a theater near them now that Ketchup Entertainment has acquired domestic distribution rights.
In a statement to the outlet, Ketchup Entertainment’s CEO Gareth West opened up about what theatergoers should expect.
“Rolling Loud is a bold, unapologetic comedy with real cultural credibility,” said West. “Live Nation Studios brings unmatched access and authenticity to the project, and we see this as a true event-driven theatrical release that connects music culture and cinema.”
The Rolling Loud film is produced by Live Nation Studios and American High in collaboration with Rolling Loud. Live Nation Studios Film & TV Head Ryan Kroft spoke about the company’s goal in producing Rolling Loud.
“Live music and festivals are one of the most powerful cultural engines of our time — creating connection, energy, and memories,” said Kroft. “With ‘Rolling Loud,’ Live Nation Studios brings that live-music pulse- infused with comedy- off the stage and into cinemas. We’re happy to partner with Ketchup Entertainment to share this story with audiences across the nation.”
Christine Ko, Christian Convery, Jolene Blalock, and Henry Winkler are also set to star in Rolling Loud. The film will also feature cameos from Ty Dolla $ign, Sexyy Red, and Ski Mask The Slump God.
The Rolling Loud movie is slated to hit theaters on September 18. Find more information here.
