Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or…
British-Nigerian singer Bellah has been a fixture in the country’s R&B revival. But just like any exciting art, it wasn’t long before Bellah’s music made its way across the pond. After months of fans flooding the musician’s comment section with collaboration suggestions, Bellah has finally obliged supporters’ requests.
Today (January 30), Bellah dropped her highly anticipated link-up with Grammy Award-nominated singer Destin Conrad. Co-produced by Ari PenSmith and Louie Lastic, on “Typical,” Bellah injected her signature siren sound with irresistible swagger, which could only be matched by Destin Conrad.
Neither singer is afraid to lay it all on a record when it comes to detailing their romantic pursuits. But on “Typical,” both outline just how easy it is for them to keep suitors entangled in their web of lust.
“Truth is you match your match, I set your world on fire, boy / I’m faking like I’m ’bout to leave, you know I’m lying, boy / A little insecurity keeps it exciting, boy
You know / That we so, so typical / Them kinda romance, they’re so chemical,” sings Bellah.
Destin Conrad matches that cocky bravdo in his verse, singing: “You say you over love the way you been up late / And see me in days, thinking ’bout me / I know it, ain’t no feelings about it / And you want something real and you got it, mmh / If I ever said I need someone else (I ever said I, someone else) / It’s comical, not real at all.”

Whether I'm popping in to an open mic night or digital crate-digging for hours through my favorite digital streaming platform, finding indie artists is the name then telling their story is the game.
