Shaboozey And Stephen Wilson Jr. Team Up On ‘The Long Walk’ Soundtrack Song ‘Took A Walk’

Stephen King is considered one of the most intricately expressive writers of this century. So, when King’s beloved novel The Long Walk was adapted for film, screenwriter J.T. Mollner had huge shoes to fill.

But the same pressures have also been applied in other arenas of the project–notably the movie’s soundtrack. Still, Shaboozey and Stephen Wilson Jr. were ready to step up to the challenge.

On “Take A Walk,” Shaboozey and Stephen Wilson Jr. take a page from King’s novels to deliver a saturnine story of beauty despite brokenness.

Following the track’s release, Stephen Wilson Jr. and Shaboozey took to their social media pages in excitement.

“It’s no secret I am a fan of Stephen King,” wrote Wilson on Instagram. “[…] when I was invited to write a counterpart to this song with Shaboozey, knowing it was based on this book, I was honored and humbled to help provide the sonic wallpaper to such a storyline.”

Wilson continued: “I am also such a fan of Shaboozey and his authenticity & artistry and jumped at the opportunity to collaborate together with this visceral film to try & highlight the beauty in humanity’s innate brokenness.”

Shaboozey echoed Wilson’s creative fondness on X (formerly Twitter). “One of my favorite songs I’ve ever worked on is finally out,” penned Shaboozey. “So grateful to work with Stephen Wilson Jr. on this. We really made something special.”
