There’s a certain level of immediacy that comes with nostalgic music despite the allusive nature of warbly guitars and dreamy synthesizers. Sedona released the attention-grabbing track “Cupid’s Victim” accompanied by an indicative VHS-like video that couldn’t fit the aura of lead singer Rachel Stewart’s songwriting more appropriately.
Sedona evolved into a collaborative creative project and has released music together since 2018. While “Cupid’s Victim” is held down by the strength of the band, the collective still finds a way to sit together naturally with all of their harmonies and powerful drum fills. The track feels encased in thought and its own atmosphere, but it takes you along with it.
The clear sensation of love is brought across on “Cupid’s Victim” through its method of confusing and enticing at the same time. Dissect this feeling with the official video directed Christina Bryson below depicting the band in imaginative landscapes.
