Oakland, California-based electronic duo Brijean (Brijean of Toro Y Moi and Poolside with multi-instrumentalist and producer Doug Stuart) releases their third single “Hey Boy” off their upcoming debut album Feelings (via Ghostly International).
The track produced by Samantha Sartor is a sophisticated blend of classic jazz arrangements and modern electronic inflections wrapped in dreamy island vibrations.
The duo took to Twitter to share the inspiration behind the visual writing, “this animated video is my first, and an homage to a jazz night I used to host regularly at Starline Social Club. I miss those nights and those people who filled that space.“
Later adding, “I miss casual conversations with people in the community, out at bars, out at shows enlivening each other through the dance floor, cute glances, big hugs. I used to make a flyer every week, for that night, which eventually led to my visual style you can see in this video.“
