Veteran rapper Oddisee took to social media to surprise fans with the full tracklist and cover art for forthcoming EP, Odd Cure (via Outer Note Label). While the Brooklyn-based emcee has not released any new solo work since 2017’s The Iceberg, he has dusted off his mic for several guest features including the recent collaboration with Olivier St.Louis on track, “Confliction”.
The EP will feature a total of 6 tracks (“The Cure”, “Shoot Your Shot”, “I Thought You Were Fate”, “Still Strange” featuring Priya Ragu & Saint Ezekiel, “No Skips” featuring Ralph Real, “Go To Mars” featuring Olivier St.Louis) sandwiched between 5 skits (“Call Baba”, “Call Grandma”, “Call Ma”, “Call Homie”, “Call Manager”).
Although Oddisee hasn’t spoken about the direction of the project or dropped any singles, based on the EP’s cover art which hints at a cleansing of some sort (it appears as if he is in the middle of performing wudu) and his latest social media feed where he has been extremely vocal about the police brutality, racism, and misogyny I have no doubt that in typical fashion the new music will speak directly to these issues.
